Lenovo Group, founded in 1984 by 11 scientists with an investment of RMB 200,000 from the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a large conglomerate and innovative international technology company in China that has diversified into the information industry.

History of Lenovo
In 1984, Liu Chuanzhi, along with a group of ten experienced engineers, officially founded Lenovo in Beijing, with 200, 000 yuan.
In 1987, Lenovo successfully launches Lenovo-style Hanka. IBM launches Personal System/2 (PS/2) personal computer series.
In 1989, Beijing Lenovo Group Company was established.
In 1997, Lenovo signed an intellectual property agreement with Microsoft. Lenovo MFC laser all-in-one PC was launched.
In 1999, Lenovo became the top computer vendor in the Asia-Pacific market and ranked first among the top 100 Chinese electronics companies. Lenovo released the Internet PC with “One Click Internet” function.
In 2001, Yang Yuanqing becomes President and CEO of Lenovo. Lenovo launched its first personal computer products with rich digital applications.
In 2002, Lenovo held its first Legend World 2002 technology innovation conference, where Lenovo launched its associated application technology strategy. Lenovo’s DeepComp 1800 high-performance computer was launched.
In 2004, Lenovo became the first Chinese company to become a global partner of the International Olympic Committee for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In 2005, Lenovo acquired IBM’s personal computer business, including the ThinkPad laptop and tablet lines. Lenovo’s acquisition of IBM’s personal computer division accelerated access to foreign markets while improving both Lenovo’s branding and technology.
In 2013, Lenovo computer sales rose to No. 1 in the world and became the world’s largest PC manufacturer.
In October 2014, Lenovo Group announced that the company had completed the acquisition of Motorola Mobility.
Since April 1, 2014, Lenovo has established four new, relatively independent business groups, namely the PC Business Group, the Mobile Business Group, the Enterprise Business Group, and the Cloud Services Business Group.
In August 2016, the National Federation of Industry and Commerce released the list of “2016 China’s Top 500 Private Enterprises”, and Lenovo was ranked fourth.
In July 2019, the 2019 Fortune Global 500 was released: ranked 1th.
